Hace unos días la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas lanzó la lista de pre-selección que competería por la preciada estauilla dorada en la categoría de «Mejor Documental».

Son un total de 124 documentales, entre los cuales se destacan «Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck» el cual habla sobre datos curiosos que no se sabían sobre la infancia y juventud del líder de Nirvana, «He Named Me Malala» el cual llegará a pantallas en unos meses más a México y cuenta la historia de la ganadora del Premio Nobel de la Paz, Malala; y uno de los que aquí en El Alebrije llamó la atención es «Tierra de Cárteles».

«Tierra de Carteles» cuenta la historia del líder de las autodefensas en Michoacán, José Manuel Meireles; pero paralelamente cuanta cómo viven los norteamericanos en su frontera con México ese ir y venir de los indocumentados. Este es dirigido por el estadounidense Matthew Heineman, quién estuvo muchos meses con Meireles para hacer un retrato fiel y crudo sobre la ola de violencia que azota a los pueblos michoacanos.

En diciembre se sabrán los 15 documentales finalistas y de ahí hasta enero conoceremos a los nominados en esta terna.

Mientras eso ocurre, les dejamos la lista completa de los nominados, es algo extensa, ya que como se los mencionamos son 124 los pre-seleccionados.
